Creature from the Black Lagoon bust with stand. ORIGINAL. Life size 1:1 ratio. (life sized) One of a kind. An Original one of a kind clay, and Paper mache
Creature from the Black Lagoon. My work has been Featured on the
Blacklist TV Show, and on TWITCH.
Professionally painted Creature
From The Black Lagoon bust or statue. This is not a mask. This bust
with stand base measurements together:
21 inches in height and approximately 14 inches in width including the stand and head bust.
This
life size 1 on 1 ratio Creature from the Black Lagoon head bust with
stand is unique and entirely handmade by myself. Created from a form of
clay and latex and gradually handcrafted with paper, water and glue,
painted using acrylic and a top varnish.
This type of creation method
is called paper mache. It is a popular way to create a mask or any
other prop with some interesting properties. For example, this bust and
stand are lightweight.
Creature from the Black Lagoon head bust measures:
1 on 1 ratio head bust 12 inches in height (larger than a human head)
32 inches in circumference (diameter) around the entire creature head.
Weight of head bust: 1 pound, and 2 ounces. (very light weight)
Creature of the black lagoon stand measures.
13.5 inches length
11.5 inches width
9.5 inches height
Weight: 1 pound and 1 ounce (light weight)
The Creature of the Black Lagoon Text was custom made for this piece.
(Of course) if you don’t like the colors of the base stand, you can easily change them using Acrylic paints.
I
added many different greens, a little yellow green, about 17 different
colors total to get The Creature from the black lagoon as exact as it
possibly can be.
The mold and colors were created after extensive
research on the 1954 movie clips and images. Of course, the actual movie
was filmed in black and white, but their is footage and movie clip
stills which was duplicated as Technicolor which is what I used to
create the build (molding) of the creature, and also the color palette.
The
base stand to the head mimic’s the ocean scenery with green tones, a
blue hue, and mossy rock. Imagine the creatures head ascending from the
depth of the ocean….
